Hows my tiller lookin'? Osage ,60" ntn drawn to 30". Parallel limbs until 10" from tips, straight taper to 1/2" tips. Thanks for looking, Josh

looks like a good circle to me. some may say the tips may be stiff but I like them a little stiff like yours. I like this design for osage, maybe a little shorter even.

Put some finish on her, then shoot the snot out of it >:D

Doc....its looking good

If you kept the limbs parallel that far out they need to bend more that far out. I say the middle needs more work on bth side. That tiller would be great if the parallel section was 12-14" rather than 2/3's the length. Parallel limb sections do most of the work. The tapering section is the lever.

Looks good to me Doc... love shootin the little benders!!!

If it were me,( ::) ) now is when I'd work the limbs back to or through the handle area. I wait until the limbs are bending well before I bring the bend back towards the handle. To me this is the safest time to do so because of the leverage of the limbs. Another option if the handle area is uncomfortable in it's width is to narrow the handle area and round the edges for a more comfortable grip. This will allow it to bend a little too. A little of both might be in order if you want to go that way.
I think the tips are OK as they are. ;)
These simple bows are what get my juices flowing. The more simple the better, IMO! It is obvious you've done your part so far.

Same here. The stiff tips make a smoother drawing bow. What is the point in sitting back and admiring the tiller pearl if the thing stacks like pancakes in a IHOP. Nice tiller, I would say it is perfect.

i think it looks really good , i agree with pat b on shaping the handle some and getting it to bend just a tad in the middle.
-
Hmm, well, first off, it's a good looking bow! To get 30" at 60 length is pretty darn great. That being said, if it were mine, I'd move the handle and get maybe a little more working limb mid-to end. Looks good though!

Betcha the handle is working. How thick is it? I think it is great. Excellent tiller. Jawge
-
You are correct Jawge! There is a slight set back at the handle so its doing its job. I agree pearly, the mid limbs are a smidgen flat. But I was up against target weight so called it good. Thanks for the replies everyone! Josh

Sure like seeing wood bend to its true potential....yeah maybe a tad more mid limb but its aok as is
-
Thanks Blackhawk! Its gonna have to do for now. Josh

Looks great to me. I'm working on a piece of Sage that looks exactly like yours and I pray it turns out as well. Making exactly the same design also.

Thanks Pappy! Its for someone else. Way to long of a draw for me. Xin, thanks. This style of bow is definitely one of my favorites. Very easy to make and very efficient. Josh
