66" tip to tip and 65# at 28". Bambo backed Ipe with a carbonized bamboo core. Feels like a great performer! I'm feeling pretty comfortable with this general design. made some changes to how I glue up. Also rebuilt the "dust maker 9000", a 6" 50 grit sanding drum, so it goes fairly quickly as far as these things so. I've got a better sense of thickness to precut and can quickly grind down to close to final tiller. I get a little whiny when things don't go my way but in general I feel like I know this design.

Full draw shot!

That is nice looking and i bet ot is faster than a cheetah with its tail on fire.....but you have been here long enough to know that one cant go on about there day without seeing the money shot ...dont hold back lets see ot >:D

I like that handle 8) Nice glue lines also. Or...what glue lines? :P
But where's the full draw shot?!
I think there is some excess weight in the tips. How wide are the last few inches of the limbs? You might be able to gain a little extra speed if you reduce them a bit.
-
Hey, that's looking really cool & slick.
Nice photos.
If I'm going to be really picky, I'd say you could round off the very tip on the belly side from string groove out to the tip to look more elegant. It is atually getting thicker at the moment... just aesthetics really. Hope you don't mind the suggestion.
BTW. I've just run the figures through the catputer and it says the reduction in tip mass will give you an extra 0.76 fps O:)

' I get a little whiny when things don't go my way'
We, hadn't noticed... no, honest, we hadn't really >:D ;)
-
Good job, Scott. You are definitely gettin the hang of it! ;D
-
How about a braced or full draw shot? We never get to see those for some reason.
-
beautiful bow, looks like a screamer for sure.
-
Braced and full draw shots. you are absolutely right. Photos of full draw are a pain for a few reasons. I have a video coming of my shooting it. I think. . . If I have video editing software on this computer.

I did some shooting and it's pretty screaming I think. Aesthetics are important also. If II wanted to squeze every possible foot per inch out of it I'd make compound bows. O:)
thanks guys. the video camera went dead so when it recharges I'll try to ge the disk finalized and video uploaded.
-
Wow that's a sweet shooter!!!
Very nice work !!!
-
i agree with Del, you got a sweet lookin' bow with kinda clunky tips, the devil's in the details, nice looking bow, waiting on the money shot ::), Bub
-
Lovely work - well done! :)
-
Nice bow. I bet it shoots well. Danny

Jeeze guys. That took me about 12 min to dig out the tripod, find the timer function on the digital camera, figure out now to use it porperly, focus on a blank wall. :D
the main factor is having a free moment to myself during the daylight hours with out some portion of the "honey doo" list being reminded to me or trying to work to a constant chant of "Dad, watch this. Dad can I help? Dad what does this button do? Dad can I take a few pictures? Dad I can see my reflection in the big round part on the front ~click~". O:)

I'm camera shy. I studder allot.
-
Excellent Tiller, Scott. That has to shoot good. You could smooth it out some thinning those tips down.
-
Very Nice shooter!!!! How did you do the r/d on the bow?
-
That's impressive Prairie! Even with the flu flu's that thing is so fast I can't even see the arrow leave the bow. Have you chrono'd it?
-
Man that is good looking! The whole bow is art but I'm especially loving that riser. Awesome.
-
Cool video Scott,,, again great job!!!
-
I build the riser block minus the riser fades slopes and glue that up. Then I use it as the form to clamp to. Then I use seperate forms for the ends that are adjustable and wedges to span the space near the curvature form. The rest is creative wrapping of bike tubes.

I don't own one. I'm amazed at how quiet it is with out silencers. The target points with a narrow fletching just seem to evaporate, and materalize down range on the other side of a hole in my target, or materalize in the target if I'm at the real range.
We have an AWESOME local roaming range but there is dirt road to it so when it rains I don't bother going. I drive a Honda Civic and that has "Scott gets stuck" written all over it. Pluss we are kinda clean freaks and I'd hate to see the state of Mrs PB after taking the car offroading and mudbogging.

This is one of those bows that really make my attention turn towards bamboo !
Awesome bow, nice work !
