So it has been about three weeks since I first started beating glass and rock. Although I have started getting better the only points I have to show are glass. I found a big bottle bottom and made a larger point, but still trying to work the blue ;) Thanks for everyone's help. I have learned a lot from all of you and my husband. I hope to get better as time.....and tonage >:D goes on!!

You're learning fast chertle!! nice job! dp

Not bad at all! Especially considering the material! :) Try working off a lower platform and maybe pushing a little more "in" to the point . Build pressure with your flaker while pushing it straight towards the opposite edge, then.....POP! with quick downwards pressure. I think you'll get longer flakes ;)

Thanks everyone for the excellent advice and the compliments!! Frank....I was curious.....are you reminding me that good things come to those who work the tonnage or are you helping me realize that I have been spelling it wrong this entire time ??? Either way it is good advice....thanks ;)

I'm not sure I made a point in my first three weeks of breaking rock. Looks like you are a quick learner. Keep at it!
