Finished this one up last night. It is knapped from basalt ( black butter ). I love working with this stuff. Blade is for a friend that wanted a new knife.

Thank you cowboy, tower and Tracy. This basalt they call black butter and it is very smooth, works somewhere between obsidian and stone. I really like the way it works. It tends to like a pretty beefy platform, kinda reminds me of novaculite in that respect. I really like the way flake scars show up on it, it just seems to look old the instant it's made, if that makes sense. Lol

Frank, from what I understand it comes from Oregon. Not sure exactly where, got this from a friend. Thanks to all for the kind words.
