I have 2 glass heads that are already sharp and at the shape I want, but they are too thick at the base, I was wondering if I could grind down the base for thinness, I might be able to use my notcher
To take off tiny flakes.

Should work if you have the right tools. Never ground glass myself.

Sure, grinding works. Safer than thinning from the base the old fashioned way. Just don't breath the dust.
