Found in a creek skunk river. What is it ? The brown when rubbed turns copper

Looks like at least parts of it are metallic (copper.) But I've never seen anything like it. Is it heavy? Whats the length??

Never seen anything like it. It is kinda neet looking.

Might a copper culture artifact. I wouldn't rub the patina off it.

Looks like a chunk of copper ore. It may have been ground to create pigment.

i agree with Jackcrafty. Some of the eastern tribes did use copper for stuff and it would oxidize to brown(green).

With the white on the bottom end, it is a dohicky. Watchamacallit's have the stone on the other end. >:D
