I did a search on arrow rests but, what I'm looking for is photos to get an idea on what they look like.
My bow is little on the narrow side to carve out for a dedicated arrow rest.
I'm either thinking wood or heavy-thick-leather...!

Mine are typically built up with cork. I almost never cut in a rest. I've also done floppy rests. Here are some examples:

I prefer a sort of floppy rest. I don't cut a shelf in, I dish the area out and then build a little wedge of leather and then glue a floppy piece over it. I'll try to find a picture of what I'm talking about.

Wood or heavy leather is what I'm after I do want a Floppy.

Golf tee arrow rests look pretty promising, haven't made one yEt though

I'm working on a bow, it'll be my 1st and i was thinking of using a dew claw over a patch of leather.
Anyone know if it would crack or deteriorate?

Here is a good picture of the type of rests I like to make. The floppy piece rests on my nuckle when I shoot.

Here's an arrow rest I made for my finger - works on all bows. The bow is a sycamore-ash mollegabet with angled handle to bring arrow closer to center, and let wrist take comfortable position without excessive bow cant.

I really like the golf tee rests. here is a bow that I did that has one. (http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e113/olivewn/DSCN4819.jpg)
