I have a bow I have currently retired. Its a high poundage hickory flat bow 68 tip to tip. It's the bow I used to take the 7 point here in pa.The bow shoots really great and has a near perfect tiller and no major issues. Here's my dilemma: I don't know if I should shoot the bow again this year or keep it in retirement for memory sake?

I vote you use your new DK and make more memories 8) 8)

Bows are made to shoot. Even if it is not your "go to" bow anymore shoot it on occasion and enjoy the memories it brings back. ;)

Shoot that bow!!!!

Shoot it

Thanks guys I might have to string her up soon and get some arrows outa her.
-
I say shoot it. If you start to see a hinge or other problem develop, that's when you stop shooting it and it becomes a wallhanger. Just my opinion.

It's an old friend. You don't ignore old friends, give it an outing now and then.

Thanks guys.

Yeah.... buddy. I'm with the majority. Go back to the same tree and shot another one. If it was showing signs of failure my vote would be different.

Shoot it til it breaks! I think its a shame to see a perfectly good bow hang its life away, may as well let it keep growing in tree form. Phooey! Kill twenty more deer with it.
-
i say shoot it or give it to someone who will. thats what i did with my heavy bows after i injured my hand
-
Another one for shooting it...
-
Shoot that bad boy, it's earned it! Maybe save it as your lucky bow when you really need it!
-
Shoot it. I also recommend you read, "Everyday Use" by Alice Walker. Great stuff ;)
