Nice shop and rabbits. You have some nice toys. What is the hole in the microwave door for?
-
Thats how I bend my wood.

Nice to see rabbits! At one time I had 125 does and 8 or 10 bucks,I raised them for meat, did pretty well till a tornado took out the barn! Been Thinking about getting a few for the freezer,,feed prices,,,wow,, Nice shop!

Ever run into a old nail or staple? If so I bet its a good light show.
-
I need to get another micro wave. It sure is quick bending wood. I set my last one on fire. ::)
-
so do you just put a tupperware dish of water in there with it for the steam or how does that microwave deal work? Interesting...
-
Any side effects from the open microwave, like sterilization? Might save me some money ;)
-
All you have to do is soak a rag in water, wrap the section you want to bend and stick it in the hole. Mine had a hole in both sides. In 20-30 seconds it's ready to bend. If you are afraid of whatever I just stuffed the holes with wet rags. The wood will bend like butter.

Wow, not sure how I missed this trick on here for so long but thank's for sharing Mullet! (Need to scan CL for a cheapo used one now >:D)

Lots of people are terrified of this idea, infact they have stopped just short of saying it's stupid. I think Paul Rodgers yrs ago in PA mag wrote a article on this, I thought it was a great idea....BUT I researched it before I started to use it. I called a specialist in the field, and although he could NOT professionally recommend....personally he seen no problem. Although microwaves open can be dangerous if you are close the futher away no effects. I ALWAYS wrap the stave/billet with a wet rag, and fill both holes (there are 2) front and back with wet rags as well, turn on and stand several feet away. If you try this you will find the rags get hot on the inside of the oven, not the outside....the waves are contained because of the wet rags. Depending on the wattage 1-3 minutes you are bending. I feel if this scares you...why would you eat something from this machine??? Those with pace makers...I think it would be wise to avoid this, just to be safe.

hey brain, great pics on the shop and rabbits..and the idea of bending wood that way is very interesting..when i was younger i used to live in washington and loved it,i lived in eatonville and oly..my mom still lives in oly..in fact i shot my first bear up by you ...out side of hoquiam BUT that was when baiting was legal...thanks for sharing..john

Yep, use to run a lot of bait stations...miss it a lot! Ignorant voters that don't know the reality of hunting. It doesn't help that voting on these subjects happen smack in the middle of modern firearm season when guys that would vote against these subjects are hunting...or maybe that's the idea..... ;) I live in Montesano's outskirts auctually "Brady" is closer to my house.

Naw, I bet you simply plug those holes with additional rabbits...he has cages full remember? LOL Too dang funny Lane!
-
If you have hunted rabbits you should know they are not that intelligent, therefore I like to give them a chance. I am finding that 2 holes may be too confusing for them as none have made it out....

He would make some nice string silencers >:D

you guys are thinking bow parts when you see that cute fluffy cuddly guy.
I on the other hand am leafing through my coppy of "The Best Ever French Cooking Course" Page 205. "Flop Ear friccasse"

Brian that's a man cave for sure. I raised rabbits a few years back until we had too many and the wife said no more.
Looks like you have lots of great tools and a good stock of wood. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, its a fun hobby (Raising rabbits) I love the meat. I am alergic to all forms of winged critter (don't eat the meat)....but I can eat the eggs. Kinda like a seafood alergy, from what I heard from people with that problem. It sucks! :-\
