Are there are any new bowyers or anybody that doesn't have access to osage going to the Tenn. Classic? If so, I have some low quality pieces of osage that I would be willing to bring to give away. They might be twisted, crooked, have thin rings, and/or have knots in them. You might be able to get a bow from them. I know George Stoneberg could ;D They would be good for practicing on if nothing else. Let me know if you are interested or if you know of someone that might be so I know how much to bring. If there is more interest than what I have, I will keep a list of who responded first.

Save the knottiest, most twisted one for JW >:D >:D If he can get away to go. :-X

I got something special set aside for him. That is IF he were to go ;)

-
Steve, I'll bring some for you.
-
I think this is a great idea. I may have an extra to give away as well. I will try to remember to bring one for a new person. Just look me up and I will set you up.
-
I won't be there but I would love to get a couple of the worst looking staves possible. I have been wanting a couple of osage walking sticks with wood spirits carved in them.
-
Save me one I think I can cram it on the plain on the way home :)

Here are a few pics from some of Clints not so desirable staves. Clint is a stand up, first class, wonderful man. Keep giving and it will come back to you ten fold buddy. ;)
-
Nice offer Outlaw, I'll be there but only Fri/Sat/Sun, probably won't have time to make my first bow, huh? Hope to meet you face-to-face there. Again, sweet offer, dpgratz

Three days is enough time to make 4 or 5 bow uke man! Would you do me a favor and shake Clints hand for me when you meet him?
-
Great idea Clint. Way to share your blessings ;)

Make you just wanna hug the big lugger doesnt it Pat?

When and where is the Tenn. Classic? I know it's in Tennessee, but can you narrow it down some? It looks like I may be able to make the shoot at Tannehill next weekend which is only 4 hrs or so from here, but I hope to make some of your shoots up north, this year like Mojam. It's only about 8 hrs from here.

The Tenn Classic will be May 4,5 6,(although some folks show up a week before) near Clarkesville Tenn, about 30 miles north of Nashville. Look in the "...Events" thread and in the "Around the Campfire" thread for more info or contact Pappy.
Pearlie, clint ain't all that big(physically)! ::)
-
Pat, it depends on which way you are looking, verticle or horizontal ;D
The forest has been kind to me lately and I have collected more than I really have room for. The staves I'll be bringing will be dry so if you wanted to start on it you could. You better bring a heat gun though ;) Some will still have the bark on them and some will have it removed.
So for I have Seabass, Skyarrow, and Bowtarist. I'll try and get some pictures of them tomorrow and post so you know what to expect.
-
Clint,i am sure i an tear up what ever you bring.i just built me a bow shop,so i am armed and dangerous.thanks buddy, can't wait to see you in tennessee.see you there,Steve
-
Thanx Clint for holding me one oh and hopefully soon il have frets on that Yamaha guitar :) its only going to cost me 5$ for the fret wire :)
-
Good. I'm glad somebody is going to get some use out of it. And hopefully I'll be wearing a wildabeast quiver at the Classic.
Here are some of the staves.

Those look nice

Thats what I was thinking! Im not used to working with anything so straight and clean!
-
Boy I wish I could go. I'd even think about going, maybe even dream a little about it...but why tempt fate. It ain't meant to be!
But IF I was able to make it, I'd shake Osage Outlaw's hand (and pray it don't get crushed....have you seen the big ol' tree's that guy picks on???).
-
I am going to make every effort to come. It's a relatively long way for me, but I really would like to meet some of you guys. I missed Pappy at Tannehill. If I come, a piece of osage would be great, if you have any left.

No problem. I'll put you down for one. Looking forward to meeting you.

For the guys wanting some osage, as of now, we plan on getting down there thursday evening and staying until sunday afternoon. And for those that I haven't met before I'll be the short, wide guy wearing a sleeveless shirt with a broken primitive arrow and deer skull tattoo on my arm ;D My tall, lanky 12 year old son will be nearby.

Very generous offer Clint! Doesn't look low quality from here, just good Osage . Look forward to meeting you in May!
