Some of you might remember that I wrecked my Jeep last November returning from deer hunting. I've been looking for a replacement since then, using a dealer to watch the auctions for a used, low mileage 4x4 4door pick-up. She delivered it a few minutes ago, a 2005 F150, just in time to go cut wood in the morning. :) :) :) :)

If you look beyond the truck in the second picture you can see osage I need to get split and inside so I can drop more outside. Life is good.

Nice! Some yellow logs should fit nicely in that bed.
-
Nice cart. That one replace the one you dented up?
-
Yep, gonna be quite a bit different than the old Jeep cherokee. Wish the bed was a foot longer. Fortunately, I'll tow my 10' trailer over to pick up wood. and probably haul just billet length logs in the truck bed with the chain saw.

I would think 'proper' guests would split that pile for you before you go get more. >:D
-
One of them has offered to, but we haven't linked up to do it. :'( Now it's almost too late. I have split some of them, the smaller/easier ones. :) I'll save a couple if you get a chance to come down and hog hunt. ;)

Pick out a nice gnarly one tomorrow and save it. ::)
Gives me incentive to get down there.
-
Nice truck......man if I lived close I would come help split them logs.
-
Nice ride, George. You can always stack staves on the back seat. :D
-
Nice ride!!
-
suppose you could put down the tailgate. that usually adds a foot or more 8)
-
I will use both the back seat and bed if I need to, but with the 5'x10' trailer I doubt I will...but you never know. There's no danger green osage will slide out of the truck bed, that's for sure. Thank God we'll have the Kubota to load wood in the trailer and truck beds.
Thanks guys, I sure hope this is a good truck for a long time.

That is a pretty ride George. I would keep the Kubota away from the truck. They always seem to bump into each other.
-
Good point, I'll just use it to load Gus' pickup. >:D

Sweet new ride George. more curious to me in the background was the hills. I didn't think hills existed in Texas! lol. glad you got a replacement, always stinks to be down a vehicle.
-
Nice truck, George but I'm affraid you'll have to get some dents and scratches on the shiny new thing before you will truely be able to enjoy it. ;) Harvesting and hauling osage is an excellent way to "break in" a new ride! ;D
-
We could get him some dead pig stickers like mullet.. >:D >:D
-
Erictheviking, those are not hills, they are rooftops. Your right, there are no hills in George's part of Texas. I can see his house from mine and it takes me an hour to get there.
Sweet ride George. That Jeep had transplant written all over it. Now you can say you are a Texan. Next time I come over I'll help you split some logs. Remind me. I hope all is well on the wood gathering. Wish I was there.
-
Yea, it's flat as a pancake where I live. This truck has quite a bit more power than I'm used to, even when pulling a trailer of osage logs. My truck may fit in Gary, but my accent (or lack thereof) always gives me away. I'm lovin it here though.
I nearly got those scratches today Pat. One of the osage trunks wanted to fall on the truck but a sympathetic hackberry next to it held it up until we could hook the strap and chain and pull it over the other way. Whew.

Ha! I should of looked closer. not too many hills with sky lights. :)

That Chicago accent stands out anywhere south of Chicago!
