I had heard of making bamboo arrows. seems a pretty good source of pretty strait material. I have access to 2 types of bamboo. One grows next to a creek and in its old age gets about 30 ft high and a doesnt get any bigger than like an inch, inch and a half or so.
Then i have access to this bamboo growing in a womans yard. This stuff is of the bigger variety. bout 30ish ft tall but can be like 3 inches at the base. Im betting the smaller stuff would be best since easier to find a consistent like 3ft ish peice most likely.
how exactly do you process it and make it into arrows?

You should have hill cane and river cane in and around Saluda.

ya thats probably the small bamboo. i only know of it one place around here and luckily its right next to a guy i work for. He has a lake and its growing pretty thickly along the stream coming out of the overflow for the lake.
Other than that one place i havent seen any around my little neck of the woods of that particular type. i know of someone down the road who has the larger type.
The big bamboo i see lots of places in hendo.

The big stuff is an Asiatic import. The small stuff by the creek makes excellent arrows.

Right. Im even thinking of transplanting some if possible.
How exactly do i go about making the stuff into arrows after i cut it?
edit-even found a turkey feather today for my fletching ;D
