First Finished bow.
Made for a very Nice 11 year old young man for Christmas.
50.5" Knock to Knock.
1 3/4" at the fades tapering to 7/16" at the knocks.
Draws 33# at 23"
Tempered the Belly.
Gemsbok tip overlays, bow finished with 12 coats of Tung Oil.
The bow shows maybe a half inch of set when unstrung that is gone in half an hour or so.
This stave came from the spalled off piece(Widda Maker), of the larger tree cut with George last July 4th.
Made a Bone tipped, Turkey fletched and Sinew wrapped Bamboo Arrah to go with it.
I know the tiller is not spot on.
What looks like a hinge in the lower limb is just where there is a lot of snake and knot.
The thickness gage was my main guide.
Thank You,

Great job on the bow, the tips are very nice. and looks like the young man really likes it.

Nice work Gus on a difficult stave, looks like a winner (the kid too ;))
-
Really nice job. I sure hope he knows what he has.

Thank You Fellas...
Told him to "NEVER NEVER let anyone draw or shoot HIS bow, not even his dad...
He assured me that he would not... with his Dad standing beside him, proud as could be.
The young man was Floating off the ground, and I was Floatin' right there beside him.
Don't think my feet touched the ground the rest of the day. :)
Put about 150 arrows through her and she was burying them in the foam with gusto.
Couldn't be more pleased

Thank You Guys,
I learned quite a bit from this little bow.
Had a chance to test a lot of info that I read in the TBB 1-4.
Read 'em through twice and now just keep 'em open.
I really like that Wide/Thin profile... to me it is just sexy in a bow.
And using the thickness gage(ice tongs) as a guide helped a lot.
Thought about wrapping the handle but the wood was too purty.
So I just glued on a piece of pigskin for the arrow pass and left well enough alone... :)
