Title: Medieval arrows
Post by: Shaun on December 22, 2011, 07:47:12 pm
Made these for my recent osage ELB to be more or less period correct. Yard long, breasted taper, self nocks, wild Canada goose fletching, red silk thread, Ace 200 grain points.

Very nice looking arrows. I would like a close up of the broadheads please. I like the look of them.

These are my go to heads - Ace Super Express 200 grain, also Ace Classic Points and Hex Blunt all in 200 grain. I generally use the Ace Brass Points for target arrows but these "Classics" fit the period better. I can get an Ace broad head scary sharp in a couple minutes with a file. These have not been sharpened yet. The only other head I can get as sharp with a file is Magnus and their steel is much harder. The head only has to be sharp for one cut so the harder steel is not an advantage to me.
