Thxs. I'm not sure the exact size its off getting drawn now.
I think it was about 7 inches.
Notice the fine serrations on the tip. Did those like a pinetree but on a smaller scale.
-
Dang! You coax some amazing stuff out of a chunk of rock, Jesse.

That's pretty awesome. I'm a rookie, and I look at Jesse's piece and say "will I ever be able to do something like that??" I sure hope so. Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing

Do they have a monastery in Hawaii? You were supposed to be going to the one in Bulgaria up in the mountains. They were going to teach you how to make fine brandy, and beer. Oh, and those little almond paste candies too. As usual, truly phenomenal! Ok, sign me up for a video also. But..... no pine trees! Don't forget to take your weed eater with you! >:D ;D ;D
Be safe , and thanks for your service.

Thanks guys.
The DVD will be on how to make a cumberland from A to Z
I will even talk about what flints flute best and also were the cumberlands were found and what rock they were made from.
I'm also going to briefly show the difference in how a Folsom is fluted from a cumberland and Might even diminstrate the fluting of a crowfild to show how to get a long narrow flute on a wide thin point.
A lithic drawing of this cumberland will be on the DVD cover. I one the front to show one side. the side profile on the side of the DVD cover and the opposite side on the back of the DVD. I'd also like to have this photo on the DVD its self.
I know how to film the DVD and i have the art for the cover. only thing i don't know how to do is how to go about getting the DVD cases and DVDs made.
I'll be sure to have some signed copy's for the PP members.

Oh and i was going to title it (( Lets Make a Cumberland ))
But I'm open for any suggestions on the title if anyone has any ideas.
-
I like your title idea man..getting DVDs pressed is about the same as getting CDs pressed. We can't talk about it this weekend if you want. Im sure I can help :)
-
Wow, very nice Cumberland, love the point, put me down for a copy of the DVD as well please.

Maybe when you get through hunting pigs with Manny and his air guns, he can show you where to get some Obsidian, to play with. You should have taken the Obsidian, I offered you when you were at Eddie's house . Then you would have been set to work on it in Hawaii. The locals probably never seen any good knapping, especially with local Obsidian. At least I would think there would be Obsidian in abundance there, since they still have active volcanoes. Take care, and watch out for aphids...... ;D ::) >:D

No Ob's in Hawaii. Not much usefull rock from what I understand.
-
What about all the lava flows, tunnels, caves and such? Surely there should be some glass chunks there somewhere? Manny how about it? No Obsidian in the Hawaiian island chain? Oh well, I guess I guess Jesse will have to tote some rock with him. ;) Not good luck to take rock from volcanoes anyway. The Hawaiian park service office is flooded with boxes of rock, and such, from people who have taken "souvenir" pieces of rock, asking them to take it back to the volcano, because of all the bad luck they are having. :o
