Lombard, I'd like to thank you again for the new subscriptions you purchased for yourself and another member on this site.
Here is my end of the trade. This bow is going to Alabama for the ASTB Charity Auction as soon as I get a chance to package it up.
This Osage bow is 60" N to N and pulls 55#@28". I backed this bow with rawhide to help make it bullet proof, never know who is going to win it. I stained the bow and rawhide with Walnut hull stain and then tried a camo job with more walnut. The tips were stained with maroon leather dye and topped off with white cow horn overlays. It is pretty quick and slams a heavy arrow.

Wish I could bid on it Eddie. Excellent!!
-
nice bow, realy like the back of the bow, Bub
-
Very nice recurve Eddie. Someone is gonna love winning that for sure! 8)

Thanks, guys. I almost kept it and made another one, except I'm almost finished with another one.
-

Wow Eddie that is one sweet bow. Love the color and overall great looking bow. You are a good guy to donate a beauty like that. Hope your other one is even more pleasing for you. ;)
-
Great bow Eddie, I really like how that rawhide backing turned out.
-
Thank you, Gentleman. I was very pleased with the rawhide staining. I was experimenting and was happy with the way it came out.
Keenan, the other Osage is the one I started at Pappy's in the Spring and got shooting when I went back in last month. Got it skinned, justs needs a leather grip.
-
OH Yeah that is very nice.....love the stain job. Just looks plain fast. ;)
-
That is a sharp bow. I really like the stain job on the back. Great job. I hope whoever gets it appreciates all the work it took to build it.
-
Thanks, ya'll. I hope whoever gets it doesn't hang it on the wall
-
Cool bow Eddie, sweet finish job. What do you have it braced at?
-
That is pretty Eddie. Good job.
-
Great looking bow Eddie! Really like the brace profile and that camo affect is different!
-
Thanks, the brace height is a fistmeel for me about 6 1/2".

Outstanding looking bow!!

That is a super looking recurve Eddie! The rawhide is a nice touch to ae it bomb proof. Anyone should be proud to bid on it! How did you curve the tips?

Cipriano
-
Thanks guys. I'm going to have to do the rawhide thing again, I like it, too. Adam, I use a heat gun with all my bending. It's too hard to steam and bend by myself. And I'm too impatient, too.
-
Eddie, that is sweeeeet! A 64" selfbow with that rawhide and dye job might get ya take down Bear recurve come April. ;)
David
-
You have outdone yourself with that one :o
-
She's a beaut Eddie! How did you apply the stain?
-
Awsome bow that thing is NICE! Someone will be very happy to have that!
Josh
-
Very nice Eddie! I'm with everyone else, I really like the camo! Great work my friend :)
-
Dave, I'd have to get it finished after hunting season, before the skeeters come out and before Turkey season. ::)
Cam, I used one of those flat, foam brushes. I brushed on the stain and then used the pointy end to do the lines.
Will, Josh, Soy, thank you, I hope whoever gets it likes and shoots it.
-
Awesome Bow...ya did a great job on her.
-
Thank you, Glad you like it.
-
Super nice Eddie.
Is the ASTB auction for this bow going to be at the shoot that they have at Tannihill State Park?
I have gone to a few of their shoots over the years.

David, I'm not sure which one it is, I just know that Bill Skinner said the shoot is in the Spring. Mr. Skinner or Lombard should know.
Thanks, Paul. I have about as much free time as you do lately ;).

Thanks Chris.
Thank you George.

The charity auction will be at the ASTB's Children's Hospital Benefit shoot, usually held the last weekend in April at Tannehill state park south of Birmingham Alabama.
Last year the last weekend in April was also mothers day so the shoot was held in mid May.
I just checked the ASTB website, they haven't posted the 2012 shoot dates yet.

Great bow and great gesture Eddie, Really like the stain job. Them rawhide backings make an incredible canvas. Hope there are at least a couple of bidders that know the value of such a fine bow. Merry Christmas. Kenneth
-
Thank you, Kenneth. I hope you and your wife have a very, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, too.
-
I donate a bow every year for this fine cause as well.
Here is last years auction winner Tim carter accepting his new copperhead backed osage bow.
Glenda had just bought a new camera to film the event, we didn't know at the time the camera had a bad lens that distorted the image and made everyone's head look like it belonged on a space alien.

Now for the bad part. I handed the treasurer 5 crisp $100 bills the auction raised (thank you Tim for your generosity) to be donated to the Alabama Children's Hospital. We found out later she pocketed the money I gave her along with over $3500 the tournament raised for the kids plus between 10K and 20K from the clubs bank account.
After being caught she agreed to make partial restitution to keep out of the slammer. There was no paper trail for the cash so we will never know exactly how much she stole.
The good news is Tim's wife Michelle is now in charge of the the clubs finances, honest as the day is long and a joy to be around.
Bring a wallet full of cash for this event, Eddie's bow looks like a winner. Proxy and phone bids will be accepted if you can't make the event. There are always a bunch of guys really interested in the auctioned bows and bidding wars are common, the money couldn't go to a better cause.
-
That is just downright beautiful Eddie! Im having bowyer withdrawls..
-
Thank you Eric, I hope it does real good for the kids. That really blows about the Treasurer.
Hey, Paul. Thanks, buddy, hope you made it home for Christmas.
