I just went out to pick a new stave for my next bow and could not believe my eyes. My osage is hunting without me and before I even get a chance to make a bow out of it. This raccoon was making a den below the pile and it shifted on to it. What should I name my next bow? Bandit???
I did not know where to post this so I honored the wood with its own kill.

Holy Saint Davy Crocket!!!
That is an evil stave! Send it to me and I will see to it that it gets a good excorcism!

Very cool!!!!! 8)
Maybe proper tiller is overrated!! >:D

Doubt it matters what you call it...that bottom one's gonna be a killer for sure. I need to teach my osage to do that. Useless corn thieves...

That warms my heart :) I was brought up not to hate and to love all gods creations, which I try to do...except coons >:D I reckon I'll try to work that out with God when the time comes. But until then...YES!!! Another one of them corn thievin' bastards has bit the dust!
I'd make a bow from that chunk of wood if it was the last one I ever made.

well it wasn't that one stave that did him/her in but the weight of all of them.
I think the staves need to be distributed accordingly so that no harm will come to any
other animals- well, until they're made into a hunting bow anyhow ;)

the best way to distribute them would be laying them down in my garage ::) >:D

The other part of the story is that my wife asked me to exterminate this critter after he destroyed her flower bed, dumped on the porch, and knocked down then chewed the humming bird feeder. My plan was to wait till the bandit put on a winter coat then I would carry out her conviction. The stay of execution must have been opposed by the wood pile. I did tell her at the time that I would handle the matter and she needed to be patient. So the way I have it figured is that the wood pile is evil and is empathic to my wifes concerns.

Wives do have special powers when it comes to animals and trees. This is just one more example of that.

That should make one "killer" bow. lol. Not many people can say they have every had blood on a bow before It was made.

You haven't seen the arterial spurts marking up my woodshop! Looks like they filmed the whole Friday the 13th series in there!
