Title: Bamboo sealer
Post by: flungonin on October 14, 2011, 11:56:49 pm
I have read on past posts that Spar Sealer increases the spine. Tru oil for a sealer/finish and then use a sealer. My question is what do you recommend for a bamboo shaft. Is Linseed oils any good. Laquer, shellac, verithane. I live on the East Coast (Virginia) and we get quite bit of rain. Any recommendations would would be appreciated.

I use Tung Oil or Tru Oil on mine. 2-3 coats seems to be fine.

No finish is going to increase the spine.

Polyurethane is as good a finish as any. And those that Pearly mentioned also work very well. But for a quick finish, I use super glue on cane/boo shafts........Art
