Out here on the sunshine coast, in british columbia, theres a tree that grow called arbutis SP?
I wonder if anyone knows if its good bow wood. Im making a bow with it now, it seems kind of brittle.

Arbutus sp is called the strawberry tree or madrone. Grows in washington also. Never worked with it but I know some foks on West coast that think its great bow wood..............bob

Make sure you dry it out longer than you would other woods. It tends to have a lot of natural oils and resins through out. Dry it for a longer time and you should be happy.

Dang! I was just there. Would have brought back a limb or two. Didn't know it was bow wood.
