Title: shoot shafts

I am completely out of arrows so i ordered some shafts and feathers from kustomkingarchery but its taking a little long. So i cut some shoots the other day and they are fairly dry after sitting in the sun all day. However, do these things need to be perfectly straight in order to perfom well. I got them pretty straight but it almost impossible to get them perfectly straight. Advice?

Well what is straight to you? I can get my shoots pretty straight by handwhile they dry...if the ends line up they should fly fine if spine matches the bow

I'm new to this message board, but I've been using shoot shafts for years . I agree that if it is straight from end to end and spined for your bow/shooting style it should be good.I would sand them with a sanding block just to smooth them out and maybe use taller or longer fletching.The extra drag will help stabilize them faster.You could do a lot more to them but by then your new shafts will have arrived.  Shoot Straight.
