Title: Plains Indian Tribe Research - Kichai Tribe?

Anyone have any pics or descriptions of bows that the K'itaish, Kitsai, Keechi, or Kichai tribes would have used around 1830-1860?  All are spelling variations of the same tribe.  The Texas Rangers fought them in the Battle of Stone Houses in 1837.

I've been asked to make a bow that may have been used by the Kichais.  I'm not finding much on them.

Matt, I tried to do a little research about the tribe but didn't come up with much. It seems their closest ancestors were the Pawnee, you should be able to find info and pics of their bows...just a thought. Good luck.

Their also related to the Wichita Indians if they're the tribe I'm thinking of- from northeast Texas and now Oklahoma. I could be wrong on that, it's purely from memory.

Matt, I found a little more  info about a nearby tribe, the Hasinai. A reference was made to osage bows decorated with bright feathers, and arrows made from dogwood.

Thanks all!.  This is a tough one.  If the bow is decorated with feathers, does that make it a medicine bow?
