Title: First Penobscot
Post by: Kitsu on July 07, 2011, 08:23:13 pm
Been a while since a penobscot was posted here, and i figured you guys might want to see this.

Both of the pieces are hickory, from the same tree, the tree was loaded with grubs... so the bow turned out way lighter than i wanted. I have seen Kegan fix a lightweight bow, so i wanted to give it a try, here is how it turned out.

it now pulls 65@ 29"

also,  this bow was used during my graduation party, I shot a flaming arrow into an "arrow trap" in the firepit. i had to us3 two tries, i wimped out the first time, but made it on my second shot. (i dont want to burn myself lol)

pic will be uploaded soon

also, sorry for the long absence, life has it's ups and downs, but we make due.

Cool.  So does it feel different to shoot than other bows of the same weight, and if so, how?
I've always thought those were interesting.

i think it performs better than most of my self bows at that weight, my design wasnt a very true design, i didnt raise the piggy back bow up other than with reflex. overall, i love how it turned out,

when i can, i am definitely going to attmpt this again, but i will use better materials.

and yes, they are interesting, i love their uniqueness

Nice bow.  I like it.  I am working on a Penobscot bow.  You've inspired me to try to finish it so I think i will take it with and work on it at MOJAM.

here is a pic of me wimping out because of a hot fire. was burning my hand and i was nowhere near it yet...
also, it even looks scary, has a semi humanoid shape in the photo... DEMON... jk.

2nd shot got the fire going, but... first one looked better, i didnt get a shot of second shot x.x

Good looking bow. Are the limbs a flat bow design? You have some serious fire going there.
