Made this Elm backed Osage by accident It's 47" n2n and was supposed to be 56" n2n :-\ (Messure twice cut once) In this case I should have messured 3 or 4 times :-[ Wish I had a place to messure the cast, because this thing shoots hard :o Like I said it's 47" n2n 42@26 bend thru handle. 3" handle. 11/2" fades. 1 3/8 at fades tapering to 1/2" at tips with pin nocks. Started with 1" of reflex and ended with 1/4" set. Dressed it up with some beads, a turkey feather, tan suede lace wrap and a floppy rest. Hope ya enjoy.

Thanks y'all for the nice comments. I like to have had a stroke when I looked down and saw (no pun intended) ;D, the mistake I made :o Got a Bamboo backed Black Ash glued up with a slight R/D glued in I'm going to start next. I MADE SURE I got this one the right length ;D

That's no accident. Looks like you listened to the wood and made it into what it wanted to be by that nice bend you got there on her ;)
-
Perfect failure & tiller!
Great work!
-
i like that , pretty impressive little bow ,i to like them dressed up.
-
Wow, that's some great tiller on that... I just love that almost a semicircle look.
Sweet little bow.
I hate the term 'expert', but if you gotta have a definition mine is 'The man who can put right his own mistakes'.
And I reckon you certainly put right your missmeasurement.

blackhawk.....Thank you, I tend to listen to me to much ::) Glad I listened to the wood this time ;)
Del....Thank you. I am faaarrrrr from an 'expert'. But ty. But as far I've seen,(in my limited experiance) halfeye is the 'expert' on these short bows ;)
-
Awesome tiller. :o
-
looks like a fast bow, amazing you got so litttle set with such a short bow, you must done a good job on the tillering.....obviously didnt need to be any longer!!!!
-
Mark, that's a nice bow. I like getting all you can get out of a short Stave bow.
-
good job Mark , i lean on the side of constant brain farts

That accident looks like it will work well. Nice job.
-
That's a beautiful bow, from the perfect tiller to the sculpted tips. Excellent work! :)
-
ryoon4690, ScottD, 4est Trekker, beetle, wildkatt, Lombard...Thank you so much for the nice complaments.
mullet and Ken75... Thanks guys. I started to stop at 23", but heck, I like to push the limits. Went real slow on the tiller after that. Used the tillering gizmo and Riches tillering style. That kept the tiller about perfect after every scrape ;D Every once in a while a brain fart will work out. I just don't want that kind of gas on a regular basis.

Sometimes I think I should convert my car and my home to run on brain farts!
Nice work, very nice indeed. Like I've said before...on simple little bows like these there is NO room for error, flaws have nowhere to hide. Looks like you nailed this one, excellent close quarters hunting bow!

Thank you JW ;)
