Hey all,
Just finished this one, thanks for taking a look.
Mulberry Stave. 58" (56"ntn). 43#@28". Bow weighs only 12 ounces (I think I may be in love with mulberry). Backed with copperheads with the fades wrapped by gator scraps to hide an ugly spot in one of the skins. Flinging my bamboo arrows with 150g tips a respectable 150fps (not incredible, but respectable).
Enjoy,
Mike

That's awesome Mike!!! Keep up the good work.

That's a heck of a bend there. Nicely done. Does it slightly bend in the handle? The bow is def maxed out n being pushed to the limits. I always like seeing that ;D
-
Nice bow

Mike,
3 words partner....."I like it".... obviously the tiller is great but that mid-bow treatment is way cool

Awesome!

Great lookin bow and nice tiller job. Skins look great too! I may have to try out some mulberry.
-
Another great bow Mike! That one bends right through the middle just like the one you sent me (still shooting the snot out of it and loving it!!!)
As everyone else mentioned, tiller rocks and the skins/gator really set off the bow nicely. I've heard Mulberry makes a nice bow...have to find that out for myself someday. Thanks for sharing~

WOW.....gorgeous!!
-
good lookin bow there. realy like that tiller work.
-
That tiller is great.....good looking bow. Great job on that...I love copperhead skins.
-
You need to find some more exotic material to put on it. Just kidding.
Great tiller
I have always worried about cutting into the back of the bow at the nocks. I suppose mulberry can handle it?
-
great looking bow buddy.i think i have a few mulberry trees that need cut down in the yard.thanks for the look, steve
-
Dang nice bow you got there! ;D
-
great full draw and finish work . i agree with blackhawk i love seeing them work for it
-
Thanks so much for the kind words all!
@Blackhawk: Yes there is a mild bend in the handle that I can feel more than see in the picture.
@Lee: I thought you might think it looks familiar. The style and length I worked on your bow was a real eye opener for me. I had really only been making longer selfbows, usually 72", but the final result of the trade bow really made me rethink the whole process. I was losing sleep wanting to try it again. This was a first with mulberry as well as that particular design in a selfbow. I REALLY LIKE IT!!
Thrilled to hear about your bow, thanks so much for the update. Can't wait for fall to see what you acquire!!
@bigcountry: I usually try to leave the tips as narrow as possible but a little beefier from the tip to about an inch below the nocks. Without overlays that method seems to have worked for me regardless of the bow wood, but to be honest this was a first with mulberry and I was just hoping for the best. Seems to have worked...at least so far ;D
