so dane and i finally got back to that hickory grove and cut three trees. which yeilded 14 splits 6'+.
as fer sealing, just the ends or the insides/fresh wood where split too?
most of the pieces lost their bark while splitting. it just started falling off.
anxious to start whittling on one of em.
but i gotta finish my trade bow before i can start anything else

I don't seal the splits but that don't mean you ain't 'sposed to. You gonna like this stuff, sadiejane.

thanks lane. got the ends sealed but thought id ask... too much work to let it go to waste unnecessarily.
yeah from everything i've been reading about hickory im excited. especially since i found a lifetime supply on a pals place.
reckon im gonna have to stock up and haul a bunch of that stuff to orygun.
hafta just make myself not go down and take the hawk to rough shape a few of em.
patience grasshopper-yeah right!
