I finally got my tradebow finished and ready to ship out. I thought I would post some pictures of it so someone can be watching for it to arrive. It is osage backed with some texas rattlers from Criveraville. He suggested the name "Tejas", which means friend. That just seemed to fit since I have made a lot of new bowyer friends while working on this bow and while shooting it at the Classic. I am very happy with how it turned out. It shoots my bamboo arrows hard and straight. This is the first time I have used rattlesnake skins and it sure won't be the last. They will turn a plain bow into something beautiful. I finished it with 8 coats of tru-oil. It is 61" tip to tip, but I am not posting the weight or draw right now.

Very nice..Someones gonna be happy
Thanks Leroy

Really Nice Bow! I like everything about it...but the Name is puzzling to me...I always thought that Tejas...was the 5th Album by ZZ TOP.... >:D
Now really...TEJAS is the Spanish pronunciation of Texas....
My Bad.....Tejas is also the Spanish spelling of a Caddo word Taysha.... which means "friend" or "ally"

Beautiful bow! Nicely finished... I'm gonna have to get me some of that Tru-Oil...
I just want to clarify something... you finish the whole bow - skins and all - with the oil, right?
-
Nice work Clint. Did that stave start with any reflex? You kept her pretty flat my the looks of it. It must be a smoker.

Beautiful. Who ever get's that will be very happy.

Yes hatch...the whole Bow...what I normally do is apply two-three coats...let them dry good...take some sand paper...and sand off the curled up tips of the Scales on the Skins...this will give them a nice smooth look...and then apply three-four more coats after this...and keep watching the Scales...if you need to hit a few more to smooth them up...do it....
