Had a great week fishing with my three boys and my Father-in-law at obx last week, caught a bunch of 10- 15lb blues, had a blast. ( I know this isn't archery related, just wanted to share.... :) )

That's a dang nice haul of blues. This is the first year in a while that we haven't gone down to the OBX that same week (got a son in kindergarden now). I get to go the week of the 4th with every dang body else this year. It's all good, though, I love that place.

yeah, we love it too.... I go down every May, thinking about going back in the fall this year . Nothing like the thrill of fighting a fish in the surf :) :) Hope ya have a great week.......... :)

Nice fish but what the heck is OBX? ???

OBX is an abreviation for The Outer Banks in North Carolina. Pretty universal term around here. I didn't think about it not being understood everywhere, sorry, my bad. :)

choppers for all.......them blues never let ya down. They always seem to bite when nothing else will, and theyre fun!......dont care for em fried, but FRESH (on the beach, still wiggling when you clean him, and then throw him on the grill) grilled and my favorite...FISH CAKES, are great with em

When they would run and I'd catch them in West Palm Beach I'd make a smoked, jerky out of them. I'd soak the strips in wild, sour, orange, pepper, and salt and smoke. :) I'd take it to work and it was gone in no time. I do the same with Gar.

we cut out the mud vein, cut 'em in chunks and deep fried 'em fresh. Was really good......
Mullet- that smoked jerky sounds awesome , I'm gonna have to give that a try :)
