Title: wood from days gone bye?
Post by: Tower on April 18, 2011, 09:15:21 pm
I came upon this rock in central TX. It was hard as concrete but was awful pretty. So I put some heat to it & that changed everything. The rings are evenly spaced and mimic growth rings. I could be wrong about it but it still made a nice point.Wish I had more of it.

It look's like petrified wood to me. I was just looking at some points on a web site the other night of Texas points that looked like that.

Good job buddy!!!! It does look like wood, however I have come across a few tabs in the Hill Country that was banded like that. Regardless, that is a nice point. Good seeing you the other day.
