Nice bow!
What is cooked belly?
-
heating to help increase compression strengths .
-
Gorgeous bow!!! And I love the arrows too!!
Are the points single bevel and do they have any tang to them or does the base run flat from corner to corner?
Also - what's the variance in grain-weight like between points? The ones I got range from 130gr to 180gr (12 points). As if using tonkin for shafts wasn't making it awkward enough to spine the arrows in - I gotta go and get me a whole load of "mis-matched" trade points :D hehehe Maybe if I get them all "looking" the same, it'll be enough... ;)

Ken, thats one of the best lookin bows I've seen.....it could have come out of a museum. That is just flat sweet. If ya cant see this far.....I'm giving it a standing "O".

very nice braced profile and full draw is sweet. I think you have that style figured out, I really like it too.
-
thanks tbod
thanks Hatch, they are single bevel made by Rich half eye. the weight is very close on these within a few grains and the base is flat no tang.
thanks Rich , i love the style and simplicity
thanks Eric
also i would like to thank Rich for the points and shaft material , and Cipriano for the skins
-
Another fine bow Ken. I love it! That snake skin is just awesome.
-
Killer looking bow Ken. Love the skins and the profile. What style is that specifically? I'd like to do a little research on those as I really like the size and look of that bow. Thanks for sharing!
-
OH OH OH that is super nice. I really like the rat snake skin and the red paint. It is a very fine looking bow. Did I say I like the skin.......
-
thanks Dave
thanks James
thanks Lee, its just a short slightly rd bow with the center being the widest and straight taper limbs . reminds me of a lot of eastern woodland bows just shorter
-
thanks Scott , i love the length and look glad someone else does too !
when we gonna see the paddle ?
-
That is one beautiful working flowing piece of art.. Like everything about it. Profie is slick. --- BUT I want my skin back pronto... ;D
That skin with it's pattern looks amazing in contrast to the red.
-
I think that is one of your best bows yet in my opinion. Looks great.

Ken, that bow is sweet, but let me get this straight, a few bows under you're belt must be around what, 1,000 ;DI love the simple bows to, seems like their always sweet shooters, Bub
-
Another beauty, man you are really turning out some beautiful work.Love it.By the way the trade point looks just like the ones I make.Cool. :) I guess great minds think a like. ;) ;D ;D ;D
Pappy
-
thanks Amigo
thanks Bubby , actually 87 not counting the ones i broke which would make it more like 1000
thanks Pappy, i like the points too easy and effective
-
87 or 1,000, don't matter, you build some sweet bows , Bub
-
thank you sir!!! ;D
-
Cool looking bow Ken. Are you starting to do some finish work ??? ;D
-
im workin on it Nate , its tough to get to the level of bowyers like Gordon and Timo and Keenan
-
Finish work like they do sure isn't easy. And while finish work doesn't make the bow shoot any better, it sure is nice to have a pretty bow that also spits an arrow pretty quick. Nice work Ken.
-
they are the pros
-
Never seen the rat snake on a bow. Wow! It really looks good. How does it shoot? And how the heck did you make the broadheads? Those are sweet!
-
Dustin thanks the bow is a sweet shooter , broadheads are triangle cut outs 2 inch by 1 inch out of .080 steel. grooved 1/4 inch off the back and single beveled. makes a tough and effective head
-
Not a western hog nose Ken.. Those dont grow to 68 inches long.. Chicken snake??? Not a rat snake either...
