Title: hickory bow (not for bom)
Post by: ken75 on April 18, 2011, 05:38:26 pm: built this one today 54 inches tip to tip 48lbs at 28 inches . pin knocks and texas rat snake . flipped tips and cooked belly . red acrylic paint . ive really come to love this simple effecient design . also black ash shafts with trade points

Are the points single bevel and do they have any tang to them or does the base run flat from corner to corner?

Also - what's the variance in grain-weight like between points? The ones I got range from 130gr to 180gr (12 points). As if using tonkin for shafts wasn't making it awkward enough to spine the arrows in - I gotta go and get me a whole load of "mis-matched" trade points :D hehehe Maybe if I get them all "looking" the same, it'll be enough... ;)

thanks Hatch,they are single bevel made by Rich half eye. the weight is very close on these within a few grains and the base is flat no tang.

thanks Lee, its just a short slightly rd bow with the center being the widest and straight taper limbs . reminds me of a lot of eastern woodland bows just shorter

Post by: ken75 on April 26, 2011, 12:28:49 am: Dustin thanks the bow is a sweet shooter , broadheads are triangle cut outs 2 inch by 1 inch out of .080 steel. grooved 1/4 inch off the back and single beveled. makes a tough and effective head
