Title: been awhile
Post by: sailordad on April 18, 2011, 01:58:40 am
well like the title says
its been awhile since i knapped anything
been slowly working on my trade bow in my free time
which there isnt much as of late
works been busy, plus my volunteer time at work(doing sync customer training)
not to mention getting everything in proper order to go to the classic
plus getting ready for turkey season
well today i found some free time today after i got the shotguns patterned
so i sat down and decided to do a little knapping
this is what i got
the two on the left are both fling ridge(the big one isnt finished as of yet)
the ones on the right are novaculite(the black one isnt finished either, gonna be a scottsbluff style hopefully)

thanks everyone  ;)

i'll be bringing that bigger piece of flint ridge with me
i got a question or two on where to hit it so i dont braek it across the crystall seam thats in it

im realy surprised no one asked about that piece in the top left corner of the first pic on the note pad
i'll be bringing that with me to,but i gotta get it finished tonight first  :P

cowboy, i dont know how you can manage to keep away from the rock pile for that long
even when i try to stay away,2 weeks is about the best i can do with finding myself going thru rock withdrawls  ;D

bubby, nothing wrong with slab knapping.thats what i learned on.i still liek working them too.
i have a few nice slabs of some nice obsidions and some nice gold stone slabs.
wish i could get some mookite and some jaspers.

thanks again for the nice words
