Title: flint?

I was looking for something to use forthe point of the monthand found this polish flint, the pics a little blurry but it's pretty, anyhow do ya heat treat this or what, it's my first piece of flint and not sure how to attack it, thank's, Bub(http://i623.photobucket.com/albums/tt320/bubncheryl/handpad-4.jpg)

From what i can tell that looks pretty slick - wouldn't think it'd need any heat but know nothing about Polish flint, hmm..

never actually seen it or used it
but have heard its some of the best you can get

cowboy it's a slab about 1/4" thick and slick, they just put up the display at the gem store, pertty stuff, how would you go at it? never used any kind of flint before, Bub

Bub. If it was me and it's a quarter inch thick.. I'd Ishi stick it into shape and finish it.. course along with all the other pressure flaking stuff..

I have worked a couple of small slabs.  If it was the same rock, it will not need heat treating.  It pressure flaked very nicely.  Bill

I made one out of that stuff once It was some good knapping
