Title: NC Rhyolite points
Post by: nclonghunter on March 06, 2011, 09:23:06 pm
A few more points I made recently. The one on the right is not rhyolite, but a nice piece of pinkish and white rock I picked up at TJ's last year from the scrap pile. I do not know what type of rock it is but would like to know.
Thanks for looking.

Those are good. You could find one of those on the ground and have a hard time telling the difference from an old one.

I truly appreciate the compliments, being new to this it is encouraging.
Funny, I was working on a nice one tonight that was about four inches long and at the critical moment I broke it broke across midway. It's those moments that will keep you interested and challenged. I see those great 10-12 inch points that are thin and just can't imagine what it be like to break one of those.

Might have to put on a wing suit and jump off a very high place. If you've never seen this watch it all;

I've been wanting to do that since the first time I saw it. Jamie, they pull the chute when it's time to go down.

Been a lifelong skydiver, but never anything like that!  A 13000 foot sky dive will produce maybe 63secs of flying which is what the thing is all about. Can't help but wonder what a long cliff face dive like that would be like!?  When jumping from a plane there is nothing to judge your decent rate unless you have another diver.  Flying along those cliff faces @ 125 plus mph has to be awesome! The time under canapy is just getting down so you can repack and go again.  Thanks for posting!  Makes the adrenaline kick in just watching!  A/Ho Indian Joe
