worked these raw. there from pa jasper i prospect.it's very hard to find and a good day is something the size of a baseball.
these pics are the good stuff that works raw

love that penn jasper. ive got one block left and i use it sparingly. those are some great points.

Very nice ! Should'nt that stuff be in a ledge somewhere ? Or is it in smooth stream tumbled cobble form ? We find it both ways out here. ' Frank

some i have is creek cobbles. but most is found in farm country. or construction sites.
i know where there is some ledge formations but the quality is unknapable even when heated
the abo mineing areas are protected.
i never knap my bigger pieces.( someday i will when i am better) and i only knap it when my zen is right. sometimes i pick up a piece take a nice flake, smile and put it back down :)

Im not too faroff from where u can find it I live on the PA border in NY where u at??? Maybe we can hook up and do some rock hunting I can show u some of my spots!

sounds like a good warm weather excursion.
i know some spots for nice argillite too.
i live in lancaster pa.
we will have to do some prospecting together
