This is a David Knight Blank and it shoots like a rocket! It is 66" tip to tip, 52# @ 27". It came in lighter than I wanted, but it's a fun bow to stump shoot with. I normally like leather grips, but couldn't cover this one up. It is layered with Australian Cypress, Cherry, Ipe, and Maple. Thanks for looking!

very nice ! should be a bom winner
-
nice bow jeff is that the one you got in tenn.
-
I've never gotten one but judging by the bows posted here, David sure make a nice blank. Good Job tillering that out Jeff!
-
Good job Jeff - did you get a pre-glued blank from David or did you get the pieces and glue it yourself?
-
I've never gotten one but judging by the bows posted here, David sure make a nice blank. ...
Definitely!
Tiller looks good, looks like a fast bow!

Beautiful bow Jeff, great job , David make a great blank but still takes lots of talent to finish one out that nice,I have seen some of David's that didn't turn out that good. I guess what I am saying is just because it is a blank don't mean it will automatically be a bow. Nice work. :)

Very nice bow but you've got to find a new backdrop; that yew has me drooling all over my keyboard. >:D
-
Nice bow. Looks the bottom limb could use a few scrapes from mid limb out. Its still showing a little reflex at full draw where the top limb is pulled straight.
-
realy nice work on that jeff. the tips are first class.pics very well done.
-
Pappy's right, I meant in now way to take away from the skill that goes into bringing one of these blanks to their full potential. Anyone who has done R/D's know tillering is the toughest part of making these bows. I don't see the discrepency in the limbs but Ryan has better trained eyes than I ;D

Looks awesome Jeff. Tiller looks great and very nice tip work.
-
Looks like a beauty to me-tiller, full draw and that handle wow-just curious how does the performance compare to that elm I sent-nice bow-Hammertime
-
Well its about damned time Jeff...its been since May for cripes sake.... :P....really nice job on it...and I am with you...handles are too nice looking to cover on most of Davids Blanks.... I do believe Ryan is right though...could have used a bit more on that bottom limb...what a difference to tiller a R/D Bow.....keeps you on your toes....I really like it though...

Thanks for the comments all! I did get this down in TN, just never got around to taking pictures of it (I look at that as much more of a chore!). I have several others I've been wanting to post up, maybe on Christmas break I'll get that done. >:D Thanks again!

Lovely bow...tiller looks spot on:-)
Im mainly a selfbow man, but is currently experimenting with laminates, so I have a question: How much reflex do you glue in to start with (my bows lose more than 50% when im done:-(.
Also I cant help but notice the background...thats a fortune in yew, som of the which looks like they could produce more than decent staves;-)
Cheers

Never knew that Yew grew in Chicago areas....lived in Gurnee...and never seen any while living there....I know that they have Juniper in Yards for Landscape Trees...but there are no Stands of it growing...
We have Juniper here in peoples yards in the Texas Panhandle too...
-
I figured I would get a few responses about the yew ;D Didn't you all know we have world famous yew in Chicago >:D Mike, the pics were actually taken at the Aboretum. That is my sanctuary from work ;) They have about 4100 different species of trees and shrubs from over 40 countries and miles of hiking. A lot of the trees are marked and in a classified section (ie you can go the oak area and see 20 different types of oak trees). I was surprised to say the least when I came up on the Yews as I've only seen them in pictures.

yeah, you old dog i figured you had a card you werent playing. ;D ;D ;D

Looks like another A+++ bow blank from David Knight, and a fine job by you finishing it out.

Thanks Lombard!
