Keeping with my Scottish/ Gaelic names, this one is "Stalcair" which means "deer stalker".
Made this one for my father-in-law for Christmas. Gave it to him over thanksgiving and he really loves it. Already planning a hunt in CO. for elk next year.
Red Elm 50# @ 28". 67" tip to tip, rawhide backed, Purple heart tip overlays, cut in center shot shelf, tennis handle wrap (first time for that and will be doing it many more times).

Thanks for all the comments guys.
ohma; sounds great!
bucksboy; just out of the fades it is about 1/2" thick then tapers real slowly. this was a very close ringed elm. I had to take two rings off the back because of violations while debarking.
The tennis handle wrap was so easy and it feels better than anything else I've used.
The color is light brow Rit dye from a bottle. I still cut it with alcohol because it makes it set better and helps it get drawn into the wood.
