I haven't posted a bow for a while so I figured I had better post this one. It's Boo backed juniper 62 inches long 1" 1/4 at the fades and pulls forty five pounds at 28 inches. The overlays are deer antler. It is very light in the hand i'm suprised everytime I pick it up. I forgot to take picture of it before I gave it away but I was able to get it back from the guy for a couple days. Since i gave it to him he has shot it so much he has completely worn through the rest! I glued in 2" of reflex it has kept about 1" 1/2 of it which I was happy with. I love the looks of juniper in my opinion it is one of the prettiest bow woods there is with the contrast of heartwood and sapwood.

Juniper sure makes a beautiful bow. Did you decrown the stave to apply the boo backing?
-
Thanks everyone. And yes I decrowned it with a bandsaw and then I flattened it with a belt sanders.

Very very lovely I am a big fan of the beauty of that wood and I see great
craftmanship in those tips.

What a beautiful wood that juniper is, looks really nice!
And what a beautiful bow you made from it!

Great looking bow! Did you cut the Juniper yourself and how thin did you get the bamboo?

That it beautiful! The color and wood contrast is fantastic. What did you stain the bamboo with?
-
beautiful color to that wood and nice finish work.
Well done!
-
I really like it. Is that Western Juniper? I have some ready to make into a bow, but it seems way too light to handle a bamboo backing.
-
Thanks. Jboyd I did cut the juniper myself, its one seed juniper. I think the bamboo is an eighth inch. It was already stained when I got it so I'm not sure what its stained with.
-
Nicely done! I sure hope to see a full draw pic soon!
