Draw weight 5 pounds at 6 ½”
Bow Weight ½ oz.
Tip to Tip 13 5/16” long
Knock to Knock 12 2/16” long
Upper Limb from Fade to Tip 5 7/8” long
Lower Limb from Fade to Tip 4 ½” long
Handle ¾” wide
Both Upper and Lower Tip right above Knock 7/16” wide
Upper Limb at Fade 10/16” wide
Lower Limb at Fade 11/16” wide
Arrow weight not sure maybe a ¼ oz if that (they are made from bamboo chopsticks)
Arrow Length with the Chicken Feather Fletching 7 6/8” long
Arrow Length with the Scotch Tape Fletching 8 7/32” long (I know the Scotch Tape isn’t primitive but I just wanted to test out the arrow quickly.)
The bows got a propeller twist to it. The tips are about as thick as a popsicle stick is. It’s a little bit left of a center shoot. The set it bad, 1 ½” after 40 shots, but you can straighten out the limbs by hand. Its got the three knots in it as you can see in the pictures. It looks like its got a hinge in the limbs because of the knots in it, it should have been longer. It shoots them arrows not to bad, if you hold the bow at a 45 degree angle it will shoot an arrow about 60 feet.

Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures but I used a scanner to get them onto the computer since I don’t have a digital camera to take pictures with.

Putting the 'primitive' back in 'primitive archery'. Shows how "simple" bows really can be. How well does it shoot?

Thanks for the replies. Profsaffel, the bow shoots very well as long as I do my part. I find that since it is so small and light that on my release I move it too much and then the arrow doesn’t hit a 6” at 20’ but other then that it shoots good. At 20’ you got to hold down 2’ to hit the target so it will shoot an arrow probable about 40’. I haven’t tested that yet but I will have to sometime.
