Title: Selfbows and quivers?
Post by: Bentstick81 on June 24, 2010, 08:53:16 am
Was wanting to ask a question to get ideas about what quiver everyone uses with their bows? I would like to know what kind of seat you use? I'm having problems carrying a seat, and a quiver at the same time. >:( I hunt on the ground only. Just looking for a little input so i may be able to come up with a solution. Thanks.

If you use a hip quiver you can carry one of then folding camp chairs  that come in a nylon bag like a back quiver.

I have a cushion with a rope stitched into the side that I tie to my back belt loop. That way every where I sit is comfortable... Works great when you also lean against a tree.  If I am hunting I usually don't even use a quiver I just carry an extra arrow or two in my bow hand.  Works for me.   :)

I have a backpack with a cushion in it that i sit on, as for a quiver, i carry my arrows in my hand or sometimes use my hip quiver. If i have a spot i know i'm going to hunt i just carry my arrows, if i'm roving then i use the hip quiver.

well i do all my hunting from ground blinds
i put them up a few days before i am ready to hunt
i put out several blinds, each gets 2 stools,2 cushions etc etc
its alot of work getting ready for the season(with all the gear etc)but my blinds will be out all season long
usually they get left where i first put them, but if i feel the need to i will move them
doing this pretty much lets me only carry my bow/quiver each time i go out
i hunt private land(some nice folks around here yet)i let them use my blinds and stuff too(not my bows though)

I really like the idea of quivers that keep your feathers dry, and keep the brush from hurting your feathers. The seat with the rope tied for the belt sounds pretty niffty. I use the Niff-t-seat now, and i must say that it is not the most comfortable seat i have set on, but it is definately the seat for any terrain. You can use that seat just about anywhere.

I have one, really like it.
I have a little folding 3 legged stool I carry for keeping my old bones off the ground. it can fit in the quiver along with my arrows.

I usually sit on the ground. Ground blinds only. Very simple quiver.

That is a nice looking quiver Chasing Crow. I bought a Dawgware TIMO lite, and i am going to sell it. Didn't care much for it :-\. Going to make a Plains Style, and see if it is what I'm looking for. One thing is for sure, i don't think there is such a thing as the perfect quiver ;D
