i did stain the bow with minwax dark oak stain then i did 3 layers of poly after stain dried.
it was a great feeling to shoot the bow after completed...knowing i had made it was awesome!

Nice lookin bow there! Next to Hickory, Red Oak Is my favorite wood,, so far,,, ;) Good tiller, and nice lines, it aught to be a real shooter!

You better find a open closet or bow rack and a lot of friends - you're going to need a home for all the bows you'll be making... ::)

i only have access to oak around here...i can special order hickory but not sure what the grain pattern will look like. i prob take that chance and order a hickory board.

i am duplicating this bow this weekend...started it today. my brothers want one now that i showed them the bow.
