Here's a bow I made for my wife that I've had going for awhile and just put the finishing touches on over the past couple weeks. She just had a baby 2 weeks ago so today was the first time she got to pull it back, and she even got a few shots off (she's a trooper!! :))
Anyway, it's a maple backed maple R/D. The belly lam was heat treated prior to glue up - some reflex was added at this stage as well. It's 58" ntn, 1 1/4" wide, and pulls ~30lbs @ 25". Good thing it wasn't 20 lbs heavier or I might have had a hard time giving this one to her ::) lol. Shoots pretty well considering the weight and I'm pretty happy how it turned out.
Thanks for looking.
Travis

Nice. I love that profile. ;D Looks like it might could bend a little more mid limbs out, but it looks pretty good.
-
Very nice bow!
Great profile lines.
-
Nice looking bow and big on you for keeping the wifey happy :)
-
Very nice bow.Congrats on the little one.. Too bad we couldn't hook up at the shoot on the weekend.
Thanks Leroy

Wicked nice bow. Really like the lines. Do you shoot 3D together? Baby in a backpack, bow & arrows and thirty targets or so, sounds like family day.

Very nice Travis! oh, and that girl of yours is just adorable! I cannot believe how much hair she has (from the other post).
You are going to have to give me an r/d lesson with some of my billets, to make a splice together.

Very nice bow and congrats on the new addition to the family! :)

That's a dandy R/D. Bookmarked for April Laminate BOM fun, too!

Thank you everyone very much. I have to say it's the absolute least I could do for her considering she's running around with 3 little ones all day, everyday. O:)
Ryano: I did want the outer half of the limbs a bit stiff...too much? It felt / looked like it was bending so much at mid limb when I was tillering that this is where I ended up. Seemed to shoot good so I left it alone, but definitely open to more comments - I know you've done a pile of these.
Leroy: Yeah, I was pretty bummed about not being able to make it. Doubly so after reading Diligence's post... Definitely let me know if other ones are coming up. I'd love to meet up and shoot and talk bows.
Lombard: It's a modified 3D...which means we shoot until someone gets bored. Then we play at the park or look at ants or birds or barbeque. Then go shoot some more. Makes for a great day! My oldest son just turned 3 and is doing pretty good with the archery so far this year. He was thrilled to shoot at the 3D moose. Yup, great days...
Jaye: Thank you very much. She definitely has hair! Hopefully she doesn't loose it like the boys did. ::) And I'm up for r/d discussions anytime as I'm just learning it myself. I was hoping to make another one before June for my cousin - maybe try out Hickory/Ipe with a splice (this one was steam bent at the handle).

I wish I could have gotten a few more shots off this past weekend, but so far I love the bow. It shoots great and it sure looks good too. Can't wait to shoot it some more this spring. And yes I am a lucky woman, my husband makes some pretty nice bows. :)
