I finally got to the point where I have to choose a finish for a bow. I need help choosing one, I know that tru-oil is the most popular but I don't have any on hand, I was wondering what other options I have. I do have access to a spray gun type finish but I don't know if it would work or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

Beeswax, rendered fat, you can make pine resin finish, gulf wax, anything really, but some work better than others to keep out moisture. I'd take into consideration the type of wood you used. Example, I like my Ipe bows to 'breath' in some humidity as I think the wood is better with some moisture content. Hickory, the opposite... What wood did you make it out of?

it is a hickory backed cherry, would seal-a-cell work/
