you make some cool bows, manny. i love those skinny tips. are you sure it's only 58"? it looks huge on that last picture ;D
-
Made sure it was 58", my first 58"er came out 56 1/2", not very good with mesuring ::) :D ::) ;D ;D
-
I like it Manny! I'm getting to where I recognise guava grain when I see it. ;) Looks like you heat-treated the belly.
-
That's a neat little bow. Hope you are able to work on some more bows soon!
Sean
-
Dang, Manny looks like you got them tips narrow. If you run out a arrows you could use that baby as a spear! lol.... ;)
Ps. to bad its a girly draw weight.... ::) ;)
-
Manny, you need to get that chrono so we can see how they shoot, You might stop by the paint ball store and see if they will let you test a bow there, Steve
-
:D :D :D Ryan, I know,....Yep that's the Idea about the tips, close encounter with pissed pig ;D
Yeah Steve, chrono is something for the next future, gotta figure out if I'm doing things rigth, or I'm just wasting my time :)
-
Sleek but dangerous. The movie Casino Royale should have edited it in. Looking forward to seeing this again next week for March Self Bow of the Month.
Thanks, Manny.
-
That is a sweet little bow Manny. Pretty good poundage too. Justin
-
Very nice Manney.
Do you lose many arrows in the jungle you call a back yard?
-
Wow what a slender beauty!! You got some serious skills there Manny! Those tips,,, she's awesome!! :o 8)
-
Really nice Manny, that guava has some really nice grain.
VB
-
holy cow manny i think those are the narowest tips ive seen! that guave must be some strong wood huh? i bet that bow is very light. the grain is awful purty too! nice bow, -jesse
-
Sweet bow Manny. You and Tim Baker can have a narrow tip competition. I think he got them down to 1/8" on one bow. If I'm not mistaken, Jaro got down to 5/16" tips on a 130# bow. You're rollin' with the best there. Does it have any shock?
If that bow isn't fast, we all need to quit.
:o

Oh Ryan,
Now you're dispensing the insults I see! Ha, ha.
J. D. Duff
-
Great work Manny. You got skills.
-
Thanks guys,
J.D. yeah this bow is snappy, faster than heavyer bows of about the same length.... no handshock
It will be a great bow for when I get older and have to drop poundage Ryan ;D ;D
BTW, where do you mesure the nocks ? always wondered,..I think I can get them thinner
-
Very nice Manny,I like the small tip myself, haven't made any that thin but I may give it a try.
After working of the Guava for the community bow I really like it.You done a fine job on that
one as usually. ;D
Pappy
-
What can I say that hasn't already been said.
Super job Manny ;D
DanaM
-
Very well done Manny
-
Manny that's a beautiful bow. I really like looking at your guava wood. i'm not at all familiar with it, but it looks like a great wood. Tiller spot on. Another great bow Manny.... Chris
-
Manny, you have developed a style that is distinctly your own. I love your bows.
-
another really nice bow of your's manny! the tips are exactly as i like them.
frank
-
Manny, super sweet bow! How the heck do you keep all that reflex with such a short bow? How much did you start with? Also how many times did you belly temper? That's got to be a rocket launcher!
-
Thanks guys.
Jbell, This was a quality stave I was keeping for a mean bow, but I got some back damage by grubs >:(so I had to make a short bow.
It was quality wood, started with 3 1/2" reflex, and tempered it heavyly a few times, it has a really low mass, and yes it's quick ;D
-
Beautiful bow Manny. I like the slender way you make them and that guava is a beautiful wood. I was out your way a couple years back. Wish we could have met.
-
I just wish I had the money to go out Manny's way ;D Oh yeah, if I did, I'd like to meet up with you Manny. Mybe I could steal some of your guava....
-
Anyone that is ever able to make it to the Island is more than welcome to give me a call.
I'll take you out to harvest some wood, but you better be ready to climb steep slippery slopes with a heavy load ;D ;D
...or I can just do it for you ;)just give me some moral support ;D
-
Manny, if I ever do get out that way, you can be sure I holler at ya. I'm great at encouragement :D
-
Manny, I started trying to figure out a way back as soon as I got on that plane to to come home. ;D
I'll definitely call and go with ya. I found a small archery range at the end of Waikiki Beach and wished I'd brought my bow .....next time Bro. mahalo...
-
Oh jeah! I think I have to go to your Place to build bows - guava and sun all what you need ;)
-
nice!
-
If 58 is short for you then what's long? :D very nice bow.
I like shortbows more than long ones. to me the line goes somewhere around 52 inches. above that they are all long to me.
Santtu.
-
It's great to see a bow with a lot of character and yet be so gracefully smooth looking - you've made a really nice bow!
-
Manny thats great looking bow marlon
-
Thanks guys ;) ;)
finnish, I've made 2 shortbows following the ABC challenge, yeah they shot good ..but not so good in hunting situations.
Lately I've being making bows in the 64" range, but I'm going back to the 66-68" ones, absolutely the most effective hunting weapons (for me at least ;D)
-
I remember that one Manny. And the infamous Ambush trials and tribulations. Awsome bow bro.
-
yaaah Thimo, long time no see here :)
....the fun of challenging yourself with new desings, gotta thank Torges for that ;D
-
Hey Manny, not sure how this one slipped by me. just saw it on the BOM. Your bows are always such good quallity that I try not to miss any of them. And this one is no exception. Awesome work as always, I love those signiture needle tips of yours. You really do have your own style. I think any of us could look at one of your bows and know that Manny made that one. Good luck on the BOM Keenan
-
Thanks Keenan, very Kind :)
Did you ever get to work on that Guava i send you ??
wander what a master bowyer like you can get out of that wicked shape ;D
