You are a stave-making machine man! It is definitely time to take some time off. Hope you catch a bunch of fish! See ya at the Classic! :)

Mike, it looks like you are getting prepared for a bow making bonanza. Don't know if I can make the Classic in Tennessee, but plan to be at the Howard Hill Shoot in June.

Hickory and osage! You can't beat it. That's some good stuff there. Jawge

yea they are what I like in a bow wood,,hard to break,,I think the hickory is tougher than osage,,I have got some 5 year old hickory, and its hard as a rock,,

Yazoo nice Hickory blanks. I agree with you about Hickory being a tough wood. I am working more with Hickory than I used to. A nice straight grained Hickory stave is a pleasure to work with. I like the smell of Hickory when you heat it up. Dean

I went back to working osage this morning.had to pospone fishing,,a guy called last nite and said he had a farm of osage he wants to sell,,only 15min from my house,,never cut any that close to home,,I noticed I had a band saw blade that would not cut hickory and I put a osage stave to it it cut like butter,, ???

Is that 5 years seasoned/cured?
And that was great luck having some work turn up only 15 min's from you :)
We'll expect another pic of 30 or 40 Osage staves in a while... ;)

I admire your industry. Seems like more and more I find myself walking through the woods locating good trees and potential staves, and next year they are still growing right where I left 'em.
