Over at the LW their have been a few posts aknowledging the life and death of Fess Parker, they keep pulling the posts as not archery related. I love this guy, he was the one that got me and countless other kids started in an outdoor way of life. Have a happy journey Fess, lots of us here love you! Steve

I read that on the laptop this morning, made me feel really old, and like I lost a freind.

I grew up watching him, hated to hear about his death.

I grew up with he and Buddy Epson and looked forward to each episode. I think Buddy Epson may have been the singer of the Davy Crochet song.

I don't know if I've ever seen any of Fess' work, though I'm guessing I'd know if I had.

Thanks to Fess Parker, I had to hear the "Davey Crockett" song every time I told someone my name, for prbably the first 10yrs of my life. :D

Fess Parker sung that Song Himself for the Series........... George Burns wrote the Music...and Tom Blackburn wrote the Lyrics....

It was Bill Hayes who recorded it first......followed by Tennessee Ernie Ford...... and then Fess Parker in the film

It was and still is a great show. One of our local channels is still running the show. Definitely a class act.
