I am starting a sassafrass elb and was wonrering what dimensions i should start at shooting for anything over 60 lbs. I was thinking about 1 and 1/4 inches will that be wide enough?

For 60#, I'd go with at least 1-3/8" width and consider a flattened D belly versus a complete C. Also make it quite long (relative to your draw length) and very thick for starters. Sassafras is very light and you won't believe how massive your bow up ends up for the draw weight. A 60# sassafras ELB would probably "look" like a 150# yew.
