Title: What do you think about this idea?
Post by: Kegan on March 10, 2010, 06:46:40 pm
Pyramid bow, with R/D bent in. The limbs would be bending only outside of the handle, mostly being long levers at that point. Outer limbs narrowed as much as possible, inner limbs heavily sinewed.

Would the sinew help deter set on a heavier draw bow, or would the tiller prove to be its undoing despite the sinew?

Kegan, I don't see why it shouldn't work if you take care when Tillering. Not to over stress it. I'd still have to bend the tips up a lot. Just out of habit. ;) If you use hide glue, the sinew shrinking should keep pulling it in that upward direction over the years.

I'd be wary of instability with those long thin tips being recurved.  If you have the materials I say go for it though.  I'm really curious as to how well this could work.
