-
looks nice good job
-
It's burlap backed and have'nt put a leather grip on yet. It shoots smooth and I feal no hand shock
-
Very nice bow. Tiller looks good. You can be proud of this bow!
-
wow,that looks great...so,are you hooked...john
-
Very nicely done. Jawge
-
looks pretty sharp.. i See your bamboo supply for future bow making endeavors also ;D
-
Better than my first bow. Bookmarked for Feb Self BOM fun, too, if y'all don't mind.
-
Not bad for a first bow! But, it's a bow with very short limbs and a very long handle. If it was mine, I'd get the fades and inner limbs working quite a bit more. You're robbing yourself of a lot of limb that is not doing any work.
-
Well done. I agree with adb, the inner limbs could work a tad more, but I actually quite like that shape of tiller myself :) .

Looks good to me,Great first bow, wished mine had looked like that.Congrats. :)

I took y'alls advise and went ahead and backed it with burlap (made me feel safer ;) )
adb... I wondered about the inner limbs, but it shot and felt so good, I didn't want to go any farther. Would that have given it more poundage?
Thanks y'all for all the advise and comments. I have another one with a grip and backing glued up and started tillering.
Yes john I'm Hooked ;D
OldBow I don't mind at all. I feel honored even to be mentioned.
Aries...Yup some that I went out and cut. Gonna take some to the Pre Spring Arrow Fling this weekend. Maybe try to trade some for some arrows or a stave or 2. And like you said. "for future bow making endeavors. ;D
-
Got to agree with Pappy, wish my first one looked that good. Watchin them first few arrows go downrange is real hoot too ;D

Looks really good, great job for your first. You're hooked now. :)
-
Them first arrows out of the first bow really feels good don't it? I agree with Hillbilly, you're hooked now. Welcome to the Brotherhood of the Bow.
-
Way to go on your first! Mine was a red oak board also, I had much less pull weight and it chrystled in spots but it shot. You did well for your first. Congratulations!
-
Cool Bow man, nothing like your first! :)
-
One of the better first bows that I have seen. Congratulations!
-
That's a pretty long bow so I think the tiller is excellent for that length and draw length. Too much limb working means more shock. Well done, hillbilly61. If you want to make a shorter bow next time, then you can get the inner limbs working more. :) Jawge

As they all they: that is one nice first timer!
-
Congratulations, Your first bow is a memory that you never forget. You did very well.
-
yes, congratulations on yer first!!!
-
Congrats on your first bow its way better than my first one :)
I have to also offer some advice, get more of the limbs bending so as to spread the work load over more of the limb which
will result in a long lasting durable bow. BTW looks like you have a big ol pile of boo there is that trade goods ;D

I'm hoping to be able to trade some of it this weekend at pre-spring arrow fling, a a seasoned osage stave or two ;)

Congratulations, good feeling to shoot arrows with a bow you made yourself.
