could you use chem. taned leather or would it have to be buckskin?

chem. tanned hide is still buckskin. i used it on my shirt. a good leather needle is good along with artificial sinew or just tie the two hides together with leather thongs. you might find also that two deer hides may not be enough to make a sleeved shirt.
