Thanks Guys!!! It's been a crazy 2 days. Mackenzie has Spina Bifida and had her myelomeningocele repair surgery today at 11am and thankfully came through it okay! We found out she had spina bifida at her 18 week ultrasound and I thought over the last 21 weeks that I had prepared myself for it but these last 2 days I've never been so scared in my life. At the same time I've never been so excited in my life. I have run the whole gamut of emotions and to say the least am a little exhausted.
I have to say one of the reasons I took primitive archery back up this year was to keep my mind busy. I have been so stressed and worried that I needed something to distract me, making bows has been the perfect distraction and you guys have always been there to help...and more than you ever knew. You guys really are a special group of people.
Mackenzie is doing well but she's not out of the water yet, I know we have rules about religion and all on this forum, but it would mean a lot to us if you would think of us in your prayers.
Thanks
Nate

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! You better buy them both some flowers. ;)

Nate, I'm happy to hear your daughter's surgery went well!
Not being a parent myself, it's probably not possible to imagine the stress you and your wife went through these past days.
All the best to you and your family!
Peace.

Congradulations!
It's a parent's worst fear, that a child may be injured or ill. I think I can safely say all of our hearts are with you this morning. Hope you find peace of mind and wellness in the coming days and in the coming years. Despite whatever struggle and hardship you might endure together, you will surely be rewarded in full measure with love and joy.
-
Congrats! She is a cutie!....must take after her momma.... ;D
-
Grats man! Always exciting! Hope she recovers quickly from her surgery.
-
Congratulations!!! That's great she made it through the surgery fine, that's always scary. Happy birthday to her.

Congrats Nate. My family and I will keep you guys in our prayers! Seems like yesterday mine was that small... she's graduating high school this year.
-
Thank you for the prayers and well wishes everyone. I have good news too. Mackenzie was released from the NICU last night and is home with us. She had a great first night and it's truely the first time I have been able to breath a sigh of relief for the last week.
I can't expalin how special it was to wake up this morning and see her in my wife's arms in our bed.
Thanks again everyone and there will be some more pictures to follow.

Congrats Woodstick on your daughters 16th. She and I share the same Birthday. Mackenzie is definitely a gift from God and He has already granted us a few other miracles with her. Thanks again guys.
-
Thanks for sharing with us, can't wait to see her drawing a bow. ;)
-
I figure by 3 she'll be out shooting her dad ;D I know purpleheart can be rough to work with but I think since I'll have a few years to make her a shooter I'm gonna go with that. Or Zebrawood...that sure is pretty.
Nate
-
Yes, it's possible, and PH and zebrawood make a nice combo, too!
Glad all went well!
-

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! seems like yesterday mine was that little now she's almost 11.
-
Thanks Guys! We are having a lot of fun with her. even without much sleep ;), and are so blessed to have her home for Christmas. We had a little scare this week and had another check up this morning but she is cleared for at least a few more days. We are definitely cherishing every moment we can and I'll try to remember your wisdom in the later years when she's not quite as cute and innocent ;D Merry Christmas everyone!
-
Congrats on a successful surgery.. Hawk
-
It is good to cherish these moments.. they won't last long. The Woogchilde was born on Groundhogs day and it seems like it was just a few days ago... she will turn 21 on this coming Groundhogs day. Hold her, love her and make as many memories with her as you possibly can.
Time is swifter than any arrow I've ever loosed.
Congratulations! Our prayers are with you and the family.
God bless,Mudd
