Title: so how bout that basalt?
Post by: Ryan_Gill_HuntPrimitive on September 27, 2009, 11:16:34 pm
yeah it seems i was a lil wrong, it does work fine for small points.  im still learning on how it works. certain things percussion easier and other pressure easier...i am learnin little by little.  it certainly acts like a mix between dacite and chert.  so here is my first try at it.  with a little practice i should have some good points- Ryan

Looks good, Ryan, should make some good tough hunting points. I've knapped some basalt from Arizona and Mexico that I liked.

That is the most fun , when the rock is found  and then make something out of it. it looks something like Normanskill to me .
